Under the killer whale, is the enterance to a seafood restaurant which has giant sharks lurking overhead and all the lamps are shaped like jellyfish. I had just had a nightmare the night before where I was dragged into the deep by evil sea creatures . . .
11 July 2004 We went to Circus Circus, on the main part of the Reno strip, after we left the Peppermill. It's wonderful seediness has all evaporated and now it seems downright wholesome. Alas. I tried to make up for it by smoking (cloves) and drinking, but there were still damn kids everywhere. I did win 9 nickles at a slot machine, though.

17 July 2004 One of the interesting things in my neighborhood is the Berkeley Steam Works. They have a shiny new loading dock that has never been used and never will be used. sometimes, I walk by and hear thumping music and see cases of RedBull being delivered. It's a men's bath house, of course. Why don't they have these for women? And why not walking distance from my house?
