23 June 2004 "Powered by vegetable oil" I thought maybe /everybody/ in berkeley is using biodiesel, but it turns out that I live around the corner from a biodiesel gas station and down the street from two seperate places that will convert your diesel to run on straight used fry oil.
24 June 2004 View from the 880 flyover atop the maze. There's like 4 or 5 freeways that come together on the east side of the bay bridge and crazy four layer high overpasses. It's called the maze. This is the highest overpass. the previous incarnation of it fell over in an earthquake (center over 100 miles south of here) in 1989. I try not to think about this too much.
