This sign explains many things about the St Francis of Salles Chapel in Saint-Roch church. Among other things, it says, "Statue of Saint Jeanne d'Arc (1412-1431), who was wounded behind the mound of Saint Roch during the siege of Paris on September 18 1429. Sainte Jeanne d'Arc is celebrated May 30."
The church is named for the mound, upon which it sits. I asked a French woman looking at the sign if she knew where this location might have been exactly. (In terrible, terrible French, alas.) She said it was there, in earlier times. I therefore concluded that this was as close as one could reasonably expect to come to finding the site where she was wounded.
