Cola's camera's screen was black and it was taking black photos, so I reset it by pushing down the reset button on the bottom with a paper clip. After it reset, it was making grinding noise while trying to focus, I decided to fix this, figuring that some piece must be a little out of place.
Rirst I took out the batteries for 48 hours, so the capicitors around the flash would be discharged. Then I took out the four screws on the bottom of the camera.

Then I took out the two screws in the bottom of the battery holding area.

Then I pried for a long time at the top without being able to get the camera apart. Finally, I got discouraged and put the whole camera back together, announcing that I had failed to get ti apart or thus fix it.
All symptoms of the problem have disappeared.
